Charter Southpaw .22

Charter Arms make a lefthanded centerfire .38 revolver. Charter Arms also makes a standard configuration .22 rimfire revolver. I would like to know if anyone has used parts from a Charter .22 to convert the Southpaw .38 to rimfire. I would be willing to pay more than what one is really worth to have a true LH .22 revolver to match my carry gun. It seems like you could just grind the barrel shroud off and swap parts. I have never disassembled one to find out.
