S&W 52 Rear Sight
I just picked up a 52-1 and it had a bent rear sight slide. I've picked up a new one from Gunparts and was wondering if anyone knows how to change it out. It appears that I will first have to remove the windage nut and then the windage screw being careful with the windage plunger and spring. Then drift out the transverse pin. Looks complicated. Any help would be appreciated. JTM

I've never seen a Model 52 but if it is like a S&W revolver rear sight, the nut is staked to the windage screw and you have to break the screw to get it off, replace the screw and the nut and re-stake the nut.
You may have to call S&W on this.
