| Replacement Springs
I was getting ready to order a new recoil spring for my S&W 1006.I know the standard weight is 18lb's.Running Double Tap Ammo,I was wondering if I should step up.If so what would you recomend? Thanks in advance. |

IMHO you have two options. 1. Go a bit heavier, maybe 20# for the heavy recoiling ammo. Try Wolf at gunsprings.com, they make GREAT springs. 2. Go with a captive spring recoil reducer and standard 18# spring. I use the Springco recoil reducer in my 1006 with Pro-Load 180 Gold Dots (1300 fps) Either way standard (FBI lite) ammo will not lock the slide back after the last shot. |
