The .38 Super is for competition, not defense And because of that (competition only) either you will be loading your ammo---or find someone else to load it---and that is how you find some ammo to work in your new Wilson

I have been using the tripp mag springs in Wilson .38 mags for my 9x23's.
They work great ..perfect actually..for all types of bullets.
(they only hold 9 rounds though)

You must download the Wilson 38 mag to 7 to get it to reliably feed anything in this gun. Ball will feed with 9. At 7 will feed PMC hollowpoint.
I have a Les Baer Custom Carry 38Super coming today(Monday). Lets see what that does.

OK, I have a 9x23 that does these same nosedives (Silvertips) whenever I load 9 rds in the mag, 8 - I'm cool, 9, no freakin' way. BUT, I can load up 9 .38 Supers and 9mm's (I have a 9mm barrel fitted for it as well) and do just fine. I'm using Metalform .38 Super bodies with Wilson guts, as suggested and supplied by my 'smith.

I just ordered and received a Metalform 10 rd .38 Super mag, the one with the orange follower, and it don't seem to wanna hold 10 rds too well, or feed the top one off a 9 rd load. I feel your frustration. However, I did also ask Metalform send me a round and flat .38 follower so I could test those, too. Guess what, the round follower is showing promise with 9x23 Silvertips, only 9 rounds, but that's fine, I only ever really wanted 9 anyway.

Anthony, I agree with the Powerball suggestion. Where are you seeing the Tripp mag springs and followers for sale? I don't see them on his website yet.

You know, I'm seeing the decline of Wilson, too in my circles fellas. Too bad for him. It was probably the only good thing Arkansas had going for it.

Not to badmouth the Cor-Bon Powerball, but I'd hate to pay for a full-house semi-custom
gun like that only to be limited as to which ammo I can carry. As much as those things cost,
it had better cycle empty brass IMHO.

Exactly. Wilson should be ashamed of what they are (not) doing for you.

Heres an update. I spoke to Wilson again about 12 days ago. Told them That a Kimber and Baer Custom Carry I have and they both feed everything, 0 FTFs. Metalfom and Shooting Star 38 mags. There is a problem with the CQB and your 47-38sup. mags. I again went over the problems. Feed ramp angle, mag lip/follower design etc. The 'smith/tech said just use the Metalform mags then if they work and stick to ball! I sold the gun. Wilson will never have me as a cutomer again.

Really?

Well, then piss on them. You know, for the amount of hype I see going on about Wilson's and Baer's and all that . . . they're just high end production pistols. I don't see the hand crafting I see coming from the smaller, true custom shops. Really, for the price, if I'm gonna spend that much anymore, I'm gonna pay a bit more and give my money to TRUE custom shop and get a better gun, a truly custom gun, and get good customer service.

Hey, you're not the first I've seen have this experience, and you won't be the last. It makes no sense they won't make sure it feeds most ammo, but not Silvertips even, huh? Jeez, that has to be like one of the oldest HP bullet design still in production and popular.
