Bill, the Kimber would be hard to beat for the money, but I saw the Taurus at the SHOT show and it was really nice for $600.00. Yep $600.00 with all the bells and whistles. It did not have adjustable sights, but it had Heinie straight eight sights. Your STI 9x23 will shoot Supers and I am sure STI makes a Super like your 9x23 and your .45 acp. Buddy |

Hello, Colt is my first pick, even the 80 Series... Plus, I prefer the traditional ejection port & barrel set-up. Springfield told me last week that they have a run of Mil-Spec Super's that will be shippin' pretty soon... If you don't mind the one piece feedramp & modified ejection port, this would be on my short list of production Super's. The Springfield Mil-Spec Super's Item No. is PB9113L Take Care, |

There were some old rollmark 1991A1 Colts made in .38 super. I have one of them in Commander size, and it's been a great shooter. Also bought one of the 1991s in 9mm and dropped a .38 super bbl. into it. (Okay, there was just a little fitting involved.) This gun is a winner too.

Anytime you can add a different bbl. to your pistol and it gives you a new caliber to shoot, why not. It sure is a lot cheaper than buying another pistol. I was at the range earlier today and the employees were talking about a lady coming in to sell a Colt Combat Commander in .38 Super. Her husband died and she is selling off his guns. I told them to call me if she was selling something they did not want. There may be a good deal lurking around the corner. Buddy |

I hope the Mil Spec you mentioned is not the aweful polish nickel one. Can you say "Pimp Gun"? Colt also offers one...who is actually buying these pistols? If they didn't cost so much, I'd get one and have the plating stripped...

| Thank You
I did not find the PB9113L on their website. I sent them an email to confirm. Not doubting you, but my local shops stock mainstream calibers, 45acp/40S&W/9mm. I'll have to pick a dealer and have him order it for me. Thanks for the information, especially the model number! |
