.38 super loads....

I asked this once before and got little response so I am rewording it with a different component. I am looking for load data for preferably cast bullets. I just purchased 135 gr flat point plated bullets from Berry's. I would like to load them with light loads. I DO NOT need to make any specific power factor. Really all I am looking for is recommendations for a well metering powder with low flash, low soot. Starting loads for a 135gr cast or plated bullet would be terrific!!!!

OK, let me see if I can help you. Try these;

www.reloadbench.com/cartridges/p38sauto.html

There is also a site by Jeff Maass with IPSC loads, you can look it up on dogpile.com.

Favorite .38 Super Load

My favorite .38 Super load in an older Colt LW Commander is 6.5 gr. Unique with LEE round nose lead 125 grain bullets cast of linotype and sized .357". An alternate bullet with the same powder is the Speer 125 grain jacketed softpoint. I seat the bullet to just barely kiss the rifling, and enjoy good accuracy.

38 super loads

I just got back trying some lighter loads and found using a 147 grain laser cast with 3.8 grains red dot to be very light, accurate and cycles the slide pretty quick. I didn't chrono this load but it is from the speer load manual and is supposed to go 910 fps.
