| SIG P245
Hey, just looking for thoughts about the P245 as a CCW. I just bought one yesterday after going to the gun show for a Glock 30 or comact HK. Got a great deal on a trade in, P245 came with 3 mags and new AO sight system. Now I need a hoster? which one is most comfy? Any one have experience with this guy? I have another sig P239 .40 and full size USP HK .45. both were too big for CCW for me. The P245 is smaller then both of these. I like the out of the box accuracy that Sig gives and solid construction. Never felt like I had to send off my Sig or HK to "make it a better or more reliable shooter". Would be interested in anyone who has had experience with this gun and thoughts about this gun in any capacity. thanks, NEW SIG P245 owner.

The Sig 245 is a well made pistol with many benefits, as you will discover. I find that the grip is overly large, or more specifically the grip panels. It is surprising that Sig didn't market a "mini" 45 sooner. The holsters I prefer are Kramer. Kramer holsters are horsehide and seem to hold up well, with excellent shape retention and the ability to re-holster one handed. They are "open top" with no straps or retention, but that is the method I prefer. Holsters are a funny thing, the designs that are sexy and racy are often poor and the old "stand-bys" remain most effective. I've got cheap $5 holsters all the way to $100 holsters, but a $60 to $85 kramer will last a lifetime. |

I have a P-245 and really like it. It fits my hand very well, and the only limiting factor for the gun seems to be the shooter- which is true in most cases. I have a Milt Sparks Versa-max-2 for mine, and it works very well. I like it better using the kydex clips so I can tuck my shirt over the gun for concealment without having to wear an outer garment. It is also very comfortable for an IWB holster. Mine is horsehide. I have a Kramer #2 IWB for my Glock19/23, and agree that Kramer makes excellent holsters. You will be happy with either Kramer or Sparks. Enjoy the P-245! |
