Anyone have any experience with MFS ammo in .45. Comes as FMJ; FMJ match and HP? All are 230 grain. I was told its Hungarian.

If you want to reload the brass, make sure it's Boxer primed, not Berdan, which is common that side of the Atlantic.

Since AIM Surplus is near my house, I've bought some of the various MFS .45 ammo to play with. So far, it has all worked well, and chrono'd with decent consistency. I believe it is all boxer primed, btw.

Yes, MFS is hungarian and I have fired it in 40 cal and 45 acp. I found the 40 cal to be rather "hot" and it was marked as +P. The 45 acp fmj was uneventful, decent and reloadable. I have reloaded the cases. I would compare the MFS to S & B ammo.

I tried the 230 g fmj - first time I tried it was at an IDPA match where I was out of reloads and grabbed the factory boxes off the shelf. I found the stuff to be accurate, reliable and pretty darn hot - way more than I normally load for target match shooting - should be real good for self defence use.
