| 9X23 brass in 38 Super
Results of years of trading I have alot of new 9X23 brass and no 9X23 pistol. I do have three 38 Super Commander size pistols. Will it work ok to load the 9X23 brass to 38 Super levels and shoot it in my pistols? Any recommended loads?

it should work out okay for you, just be careful working up the loads. The two cartidges are very similar in dimensions, my .38 supers have alaways worked fine with the limited amount of factory 9x23 ammo I've run thru them. I did take the precaution of installing shock buffers for range time with 9x23, Winchester's offerings are warmish. About 1500 fps from either load out of a five inch gun, maybe 75 fps less from the Commander. I pretty much use only WW231 and Blue Dot as pistol powders. Again, per your own thoughts, work up the reloads carefully and watch for pressure signs. |
