| WOLF AMMO damages Glock
Be advised, the Erie County Sheriff's Office (NY) listed a recent problem (4/28) with WOLF 40 cal ammo in a Glock 22. According to the LE Telecommunication system, "An incident involving ammunition (Wolf) that caused a Glock model 22, 40 cal pistol's firing chamber to EXPLODE." The ammo listed was: WOLF, 40 cal., 180 grain, LOT# T40-02 Also according to the message, "The weapon had fired approx. 120 rounds of this type of ammo before the explosion. Damage to the weapon was extensive. No injury occured." Don't ask me further details of this notice.......Was it a KABOOM?.....Was it a squib round followed by another round? I'll only comment......It was WOLF, and please tell me LE agencies aren't using this terrible ammo. But then neither should you IMO. |

Wolf ammo is only suited for use in an AK. Seems like those Glocks in .40 sure like to go...KABOOM!!!

The .40 is a fairly high-pressure round...Combine that with sub-standard quality (IMO) and it's possible that there was some bullet setback as the round chambered...maybe just enough to drive the pressure off the scale. OR...a combination of setback and... There's also the possibility of an oversized bullet. I've seen this with some lots of Wolf .45 ammo. I saw an HK USP fail to go to battery, and when the slide wouldn't rack to eject the round, we had to force it open. When it finally let go, the case pulled off the bullet, leaving it jammed in the chamber. Got the bullet out, and took it home to mike it. The diameter was .4525 and .454 miked on two sides, 90 degrees apart...oversized and out of round. I've always felt that dropping a grand on a good pistol, and then trying to recoup the expense by shooting low-quality ammo is bad economics. Tuner |

Something else comes to mind with that stuff...When the gun gets hot, that lacquer paint softens and transfers to the chamber...maybe some pressure build-up came from that, too...I think I'll just leave Wolf to the folks shootin' at each other in the Middle East...where the Russians are sending most of it anyway. They're just sellin' it to us so they can break even on what they give to the crazies to use against us...methinks. Cheers! Tuner |

Is there any ammo on the market that a Glock 40 hasn't blown with?

| Glock mod 35
Hi All new guy here and found this thread right off. Cheap or poorly reloaded ammo is more likely the reason for "KABOOMS" I've fired thousands of rounds through my Mod 35 some factory Federal and my own loads without any problems. However my friend bulged a barrel firing into a squib with his 35 gun survived with a barrel replacement. Last year at the range a newbie to reloading was using some of his hand loads, his wife was shooting them through his brand new Baretta .40 and blew the thing to pieces she had some cuts on her hand and around her eye and a piece of the action came through the grip and hit me in the shoulder 2 weeks later the same bone head blew up a S&W .44 cylinder broke into 3 pieces and back strap split  he is no longer a member.... the only thing I shoot wolf through is my AK Be carefull out there  |
