I cannot find offhand anybody selling .50x 3 1/4" rifles but C. Sharps. http://www.csharpsarms.com/ A 550 grain bullet at 1300 fps is possible and bigger molds are available up to 700+ grains. Ballard will build a Highwall in .50-110 but that is an Express type round with light bullet and lots of powder. About everybody makes a .50-90 = .50x 2 1/2" which is more historically correct and is plenty of punch for most folks. Black is best. These monster cases are tough to load well with smokeless, although Accurate Arms has data for them. Buffalo Arms has brass and dies. even bullets and loaded ammo ($103 a box!) Paul Jones makes several .50 moulds, and there are others available. |
