Hey all, maybe this is the wrong area to post this question, but can anyone tell me about the Browning A-Bolt Medalion in 30-06??? I am looking into buying the Stainless version and just looking for some feedback. Thanks very much!!!
P.S. Would use mostly for hunting and target, but not precision target.

Drew, there are a couple of features of the A-Bolt, that in my experience make the rifle somewhat less desirable than it's competition. First is the trigger. The factory unit is only marginally adjustable, and the ones I've worked with never came out as well as I'd have liked. There is an aftermarket trigger out now, but it's over $100, not including installation. The other weak point on the A-Bolt stainless version is the stock. It seems very flexible, especially in the forend. I'd prefer a more rigid stock, especially on a hunting or general purpose rifle on which a sling is used. Winchester and Remington both make stainless rifles. Winchester offers a better trigger, and the same type of stock on their stainless rifles, and Remington offers a nice trigger and a laminate stock, which is not only rigid, but stable in weather extremes. The 700LSS would probably be my pick. Just my $.02, hope it helps.

I have had a A-bolt since 1991 . with factory ammo it will shoot a -1" group at 100 yds out 0f a rest. a friend of mine has a 270 that shoots hole for hole.
I love mine .As was said you do have to get the trigger adjusted. but it is pretty low tech. I did mine and I am by no means a gunsmith.
My opinion is to get in
