Help Identifying a gun

Hello Forum world.

Im trying to get information on a gun my grandfather has. It is from a WW2 era. But outside of that I do not have any other info. Anyone know where I can go to get information?

Info I do have:
Gun Inscription: "Fabrique National D'armes de guerre herstal Belgique"
"Browning's Patent Depose"
The Serial Number on all moving parts.

Anyone have any ideas?

i believe the gun is a .22 caliber relative but not positive. the markins on the mag are pretty worn. the only clear markings say "mm". which doesnt help too much. im trying to paste a picture in this but, its only letting me put a link in there and when i post, its not showing up. any specific way to upload a pic from my hard drive?

I opened a free account with photobucket. You can log in with a facebook account if you've got one. It's easy and straight forward.

Interesting looking pistol. I believe if you paste the "Image Code" from photobucket into your post, it will show up in the forum.

That is a Browning M1922, widely used as a service pistol by many European countries. Caliber could either be 7.65mm (.32 ACP) or 9mm (.380 ACP)

Browning 1922

so i found this site with some information on it. looks like the one i have with the WaA140 on it looks to be a more common one. however according to the serial number, mine doesnt fit that range. does anyone know a manufacturers service line or specialty gun shop that would know specifics?
