Magazines. stainless or blued steel? Any preference?

I was getting an extra magazine for my 380 Gov't lately and see that they are offered in Stainless, Blue, and nickel. My pistol is stainless. Is there any preference or reason to but one over the other except maintainence or to match the pistol's finish, or should I just go with whichever offers the best deal / price? I take care of my magazines and I am not around salt water so corrosion is not really an issue. I am staying with Colt and not aftermarket.

How do you carry your extra mag(s)? If it's IWB, then sweat
is corrosive...doubly true when applied to me! Stainless mags
are so much easier to clean, I find....This is of course, MOHO.

Extra mag is mostly so I can let one rest empty while other is loaded, rotating mags. I will actually have three (I have 2 now - 1 stainless and one blue) so I can carry an extra one loaded while still letting one rest. At the moment I carry the extra, when loaded, in an inside jacket pocket.

Where it's available I'll go stainless - where it's not OK

Where it's available I'll go stainless - where it's not OK, I lived without stainless magazines for a long time. I've seen it seriously discussed only by Layne Simpson (custom 1911 book) and I can't fault his reasoning so I go with 47D's or equivalent for carry. Figure I might want to take a course or whatever someday so stainless may have an edge.

I don't much fret that my .22's are mostly blued. I still boil the bodies/followers to clean dirt and wax on the blue .22 magazines.

I might go with blackened magazines for an industrial look carry against a dark shirt. Ayoob has written about unobtrusive open carry with a black gun against a black shirt.

That's a good point about the concealment against a white/black shirt and
s/s vs blue mag Clark.....
