They do indeed offer only one, and Brownells does offer it. Brownells PN# 207-000-008.

I think I'm headed another direction. The McCormick sight also has the wrong cut size indicated in the Brownells catalog too... per Mr. Berryhill..... so dealing with CMC sounds like a crap shoot to me. The Enhanced Officers has a flat top slide and based on the pictures I'm pretty doubtful that it will look right even if it actually did fit. I'm not nuts about night sights.. (I jerked them off every gun I had so equiped in the 80s and 90s) but maybe they're better quality these days. PT makes a set just for the Enhanced Officers Model.. and that is probably what I'll try. That solution will include a new front sight too... which wouldn't have been addressed with the CMC solution. |

What about the Yo-Bo Retro sight, I'd go with it my own damn self if I didn't already have a Novak cut on my Commander......Brownells stock # 100-002-166. |

That's a nice looking sight by Mr. Yost.... but it uses the factory front (which I want to up grade too) It's interesting that they quote a 330" X 65 degree cut just like one of the two numbers supplied by CMC... which is in conflict with Mr. Berryhill's number ?? |

What kind of 'upgrade' are you looking for on the front sight? I though you didn't wish to permanently modify your gun? If your staked front sight hasn't flung off, and you don't want to mill in a dovetail, what would you be seeking? I believe the sizes that Brownells states are the correct ones for stock Colt slots, but I'll be damned and go to H E double-toothpicks before I correct anyone, much less an acclomplished 'smith. |

I'm shooting to have a sight picture as close as I can get to my competition 1911s which all have BoMar Rears and Dawson fiber optic front. I just spent the last hour on the phone... and I think if I can get some more details from Mr Yost on his Retro... I'm going to go with that as a rear sight and a staked Trijicon for the front. That will give me a fast solid set up with a sight picture very close to what I shoot in matches... (even in the dark) |

I received an e-mail from Mr. Yost... And had a productive call with the nite sight people here in Michigan. Mr. Yost's sights are a 100% swap with the factory blades... height... width... cut... etc (thanks to you Mr. Hall for the suggestion) ... and the staked front nite sights should swap with the factory fronts. So if the UPS driver doesn't drop the ball I should have this all up and running next week. I'll report back when all the pieces are put together. |

If your Colt is the "enhanced" I don't think the CMC sight will work, the rib will be in the way.

Nope--- The Yost rear sight fit like a glove (that's after a little filing on the sight) The front night sight required a special instalation tool so I sent it home. I'm not interested in a $100 tool to put in a $30 sight. I put day glow paint on the stock front "dot" sight and love the way it works. Like I said before-- I'm not a believer in night sights---I found in no light IDPA matches.. that they are good for one round before your night vision goes away!!! |
