I am in posession of a 41 colt. It has been in my fmily for a long time. It was one of my grandfathers (great, great great, etc.). He was a Texas Ranger and this is the gun he used. It has a pearl handle. On the left side of the barrel it says "41 COLT". On the left side above the trigger is says" PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871." Next line under this says" July 2, 72. Jan. 19.75."
On top of barrel it says "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. Cc" underneath this " HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.
Serial Number is 147280. This number is in three place on the gun.
ANy help as to worth or what I have would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, sclaryusa. I have no idea what that revolver is worth, but you are VERY fortunate to be in possession of it. Hopefully, it will stay in your family for many years to come. It's quite an heirloom..
