| Seriously Pricey M1911 .45
[IMG][IMG] Recovered from the waistband of Clyde Barrow when he and Bonnie Parker were killed, the piece was given by the government to Frank Hamer along with some other ambush booty. Hamer gave it to his son, and it was subsequently auctioned. It sold for $240K in 2012; offers topping $300K have since been tendered and refused. A spare "clip," as the provenance letter calls it, with the lanyard ring filed off was recovered from Barrow's pocket but seems not to have been sold with the gun. |
