| Colt Pre-Woodsman jammed shut
I very recently acquired a Colt Pre-Woodsman via an on-line auction. I have not even fired it yet. Today I was pulling back the slide to lock it open to inspect the barrel, and the slide did not want to open. It was cocked and on safe, so I took off the safety and dry-fired the trigger. I don't recall doing anything else, but the slide now definitely will not retract. Has anyone ever encountered this kind of jam up? (There is no shell in there.)

You need a Colt .22 auto expert. They hang out on the Colt Forum. Post this over there and one of them will help you figure out what's going on: Colt Forum |

Good advice. I immediately ran into the world's top Woodsman expert over there. We got together on the phone and, with him instructing, I disassembled and reassembled the gun, and it now works fine. Thanks.
