Pre-war Colt Governments

Guys I am back in my home state visiting my new grandson and have visited a gun shop that I used to do a lot of business. They have two pre war Colt commercials, one a 1922 and a 1917. Both of thease guns are in good shape considering their age and I would rate them at 90 percent. They are asking $1021 for the 1922. Not being up to date on the old ones is this a good price?
Thanks in advance.

It is really a shot in the dark to guess values without seeing the pistol and verifying that it is the original finish and all correct. But, if it is truly 90% or better that's not a bad price. How much do they want for the 1917?

Both 1911's have not been refinished. I am going back to the shop tomorrow and will ask. Both guns appear to be original and unrefinished.

The deceased owner of this shop has been in business since 1945 and dealt with high quality firearms such as the 1911's, Parker and LC Smith shotguns. They have a web site: Don't let the name fool you as they don't sell watches.

I must be getting old as I forgot to add that this shop has a 5500 gun inventory and does a lot of business through the internet and on Gun List.

Went to the shop today. The 1917 Commercial Colt is all original and retains about 90 percent of original bluing. They are asking $950.00.

If anyone is interested in checking out the inventory of this shop which has been in business since 1945 they have a web site which is:

There address is : Morris Watch Shop
1300 Smith St.
Milton, WV 25541
(304) 743-4121

They deal in quality weapons. They are a great bunch to do business with and they have adds in Gun List. They also sell through the net.
