Anyone have any comments/recommendations on the king cobra. Anything like a python or more like a tropper?

Basically it is a Trooper MK V with a heavy barrel and was also available in stainless. It is a robust design, Jerry Kunhassen considered it one of the strongest 357 Magnum revolvers available.

I'm not an expert in Colt's or S&W's but I have a 6" K.C., a few Python's & other I frames, plus some Smith's. I don't own an L frame S&W but sense the K.C. is more like that model in size & feel than a Python. When the hammer is drawn it lacks the Python's buttery feel but the cylinder rotation is quicker, like the Smith. The KC's DA trigger lacks the precise staging feel of the S&W or well tuned Colt, the KC's release being abrupt. SA feel is very good, though.

The KC is a hefty gun, possibly heavier than an L frame. It feels more robust than a Python. Accuracy has been excellent, better than my S&W M28-2, and I'd rather shoot it than either of my Python's. I have smallish hands & the KC fits better.

It's a hard gun to compare and is unique in some ways. I'm glad I have one and think it's too bad they're no longer in production because they did offer an excellent alternative to the 686 & cheaper than the Python.

I think the King Cobra is one of the most under rated guns out there. Mine is very accurate and the single action pull is the best I have come across yet. The double action pull is not the best, but it seems to improve with age (or I am).
