| Extended Safety?
Does anyone now where I can get an extended safety for my CZ97B? I made one for my Beretta 92F and before I made one for my CZ thought I would see if there is one all ready availible, thanks.

According to CZ America, the EAA safety can be fitted to the CZ-97B.

Do you happen to know what needs to be done to fit it? Is it minor or major? Anything you can provide will help me greatly, thanks.

I don't know for sure. I'd suggest contacting CZ America. I asked this question of them last year for an old customer, and the rep told me the EAA ambi safety could be fitted. That was an ambi, so there may be little or no fitting for the standard safety. |

Who is "CZ America?" Do you mean CZ-USA, or the other CZ? It was my understanding that the detent methods used on the safeties were different, and while they could be made to work, it was not just a (parts swap -- it would take some adept gunsmithing to make it work. I have a full-size EAA .45. I'll have to take a look at it, and compare it to my CZs in the next evening or two. |

CZ USA. I'm not sure what safety setup the CZ97B uses. EAA used two types of safeties, the old style and new style safety. The old style has a shallow hole in the side of the frame, and a tiny spring-loaded, flat pointed plate on the back of the safety. The new style has a hole completely through the left side of the frame, and a spring-loaded plunger staked inside the safety shaft. |

Well my 97b has a shallow groove on the inside of the slide. In that groove is a spring and a pointer that clicks when the saftey is put on or off. Would that be the old style or the new. Please let me know as I want to order one and install it on my 97B.

The IPSA and SA have the extended safety that CZ offers. It will fit the 97 easily........call Mike at CZUSA and see what he says. Shoot well. |
