Generally speaking, any CZ mag in .40 will work in the gun. As will most EAA Witness .40 mags, too. (The problem is that the CZ-40B has a different grip design, and the base plates of the 40B mags keep their mags from working in other CZ-based .40s, but not vice versa. The mag tubes themselves are identical; only the base plates are different.) The non-CZ40B mags will work in the 40B, but there'll be an unsightly gap at the bottom of the grip. You can buy 40B baseplates from CZ fairly cheaply, and make any CZ-type .40 mag look right. (Warning: some "clone"/EAA mags have their mag release notch too low on the tube, and to work in a CZ, the top of the mag release notch has to be enlarged a little, by needle file or Dremel tool. Otherwise they won't lock in place easily, or will press up against the underside of the slide so tightly, that the gun doesn't want to work right.) |
