| DW/CZ question
Now that DW has been bought out by CZ, are the special sales of experimental guns on Gun Broker going to end? Seems like there is no more action from them. Any news?

Yep, I noticed the same thing. I loved dan wesson and the personal attention,, quality of products... Bob was very personable and the company seemed to be going in the right direction as Kimber quality and service was going down. Now?!?!?!? I heard the news about CZ and now no guns are being sold and who's running the company is up in the air. I'm worried when a big company takes over a small high, quality operation. DW had such a mixed history and I thought under Bob that DW was back on its feet and better than ever. BY the Way this forum is dead! I haven't been on ina while. What happened?!?!?!?

Don't let the sale of the Co. keep you from buying an existing DW! The ones that are out there available as new now are super buys! Go get em., if you can.

I think the original intent of the sale was to gain retail outlets and advertising courtesy of CZ. This may be changing, perhaps CZ just wants a 1911 to take to market? I hate to dabble in rumors, so let's just wait and see how this shakes out.

I called CZ to see where I could get a PT-CCO, they said they would not be making that pistol, at least for now--they would only have a 5" 45 ACP and, I think she said 10mm also. It's like they're going to see how it goes--what if they don't sell--then what. And why doesn't Dan Wesson take down their sight--there no more Dan Wessons, they will be CZs...

What is going to happen to the worlds greatest revolver?? CZ now has only 2 dan wesson 1911's on their web site, the rest of the 1911 series is gone, and so have all their revolvers. |

Unfortunately it looks like CZ has no interest in revolvers and only limited interest in 1911's. Perhaps if sales of DW 1911's booms and they get tons of requests we might see more 1911 models offered and maybe the revolvers too. It is sad, but revolvers don't sell very well these days, everyone wants a semi-auto. Even people who are new to the sport and have never shot a gun before usually gravitate towards the semi-autos. Personally, I would not want to be without my revolvers. Yes, semi-auto's are great and have their place, but to the seasoned shooter the revolver holds an equal place in the world.
