| The Future Of Dan Wesson Revolvers - Looks Good!
Hey Guys, I thought that this e-mail I sent to CZ might sooth the raw nerves of some Dan Wesson revolvers fanatics here (or prospective buyers like myself). Quote:

| I wish they'd get on it!
Well, it's fall now, and CZ-USA has nothing up on their site. Today I ran across a darn-near-perfect Dan Wesson stainless .22 mag 6" for $249. I thought that was a pretty nice price (almost nice enough to get me to buy, even though I wasn't in the market for a heavy .22 mag revo), but I'm hung-up on the fact that it doesn't come with a barrel wrench or gapper. I know I can use a feeler gauge for the gapper, but I need a .22 wrench. If CZ-USA could provide me with the parts, I'd be on that puppy. As it is . . . :-? |

I ran across a DW 357, four inch vent rib, short underlug, it was grungy dirty, but cleaned up beautifully and is a great shooter. No box, no gap gauge, no wrench and I don't care.

I worry about not being able to set the gap properly should the barrel nut rotate out . . . am I being nuts worrying about this on a .22 mag? And, is there some way I can fudge it without the proper barrel wrench should I need to do so? $249 is a great deal for a stainless Dan Wesson in this condition . . . |

No, you really need the wrench to properly torque the barrel nut. Once torqued into place, it is unlikely to come loose.

Drat. Well, thank you for the info. I'll dig around and see if I can't find a wrench before the gun is sold. |

The wrenches come up on eBay fairly regularly, as do barrels and shrouds. DW may still have wrenches.

Well, in the meantime, I went in fell in love with something I want more . . . the DW is a screaming good deal, though.
