CBOB checkering

Is it just me, or does Dan Wesson have the coarsest checkering on the planet? I just bought a CBOB (post buyout) and loved everything about it but the rather crude checkering. I counted 12 vertical lines. does that work out to 20 lpi? One point was flattened and the lines actually appear to have a wave in them. Sorry, no pics today, but I could take some. I have seen pictures of others on the web, and they all look to be similar. Comments appreciated.

After I wrote that I thought about how it sounded. First timer logs on to complain...
I really am pleased with the CBOB, just had a question about checkering. I did compare it to other 20 lpi checkering that I have, and it seems to have about half the lines? Promise to not gripe about anything else.
