Dan Wesson 15-2 hard case extraction.

Back in the early 80ís I bought a Dan Wesson Model 15-2V while I was stationed in Germany. I was firing it on the range a few months later when I had a case rupture in the chamber and blew out cylinder at the locking notch. Before you ask, It was a factory round. In any case, I decided to wait until I returned to the states to get it repaired. By the time I did return to the US; Dan Wesson had closed their doors. As life often does, it took me another 25 years to finally find a crane and cylinder for the gun. I got the poarts from Numrich Gun Parts and installed them. Then I checked the headspacing of the cylinder and the timing using a range rod. Everything checked out fine. I also installed a new set of springs as well. Now the problem. When I received the cylinder, I noticed the bores looked a little rough. Not rusting or pitting but a lot of machining marks. The gun fires fine and extracts .38 Specials and Midrange 357ís without a problem. But when I fire heavier 357 loads, spent case extraction becomes difficult. So, can anyone suggest a good pistolsmith I can send the gun to have it looked at. I would prefer a smith with experience with Dan Wesson revolvers. Thanks in advance.

Dan Wesson 15-2 hard case extraction

Don't know of a good smith who works Dan Wessons. Have the same problem with a model 14 that's about 40 years old. Locks up tight, shoots accurate, rough chambers in the cylinder, doesn't like to take reloads. Am planning on purchasing some brushes from, Brush Research Manufacturing / Flex-Honeģ Tools For Firearms. They're at
Gun Brushes, Rifle Brushes, Gun Cleaning Brushes
This just might resolve my problems. Give a look at least. Good luck.

Dan Wesson was bought by CZ-USA.
They're selling some barrels and parts, possibly new revolvers, and I think they offer repairs to older revolvers.

I'd contact them.

Hunting & Sporting Firearms and Accessories | CZ-USA

If they can't do it, I highly recommend master gunsmith Frank Glenn:

Frank Glenn-Glenn Custom Complete Gunsmithing Service Glendale AZ

If you want to try this at home, Brownell's also sell the chamber hone tool.
NOTE: You MUST buy and use the special honing fluid sold for use with the tool.
NOTHING else works and if you try, the hone simply disintegrates.
