Hello - I'm new to the group and would like to float a question for some of you more experience gun owners. A while back, I purchased a Kimber Pro Carry 1911 (classic / series 1). It works well but I'm toying with the idea of getting an upgraded Kimber (like the Custom Crimson or the Pro Carry II).
I paid $450.00 for my Classic Pro Carry and from what I've read in other forums, that was a really good price seeing that it could have sold for over $800.
I don't own any other gun and want to remain in the Kimber family for my gun
1. Was $450.0 in fact a good deal for what I paid?
2. I understand that many owners prefer the classic Pro Carry as opposed to the Pro Carry II because of the firing pin or something like that. So should I just keep the classic because I would have a more valuable gun?
3. If I went the route of trade my classic and also pay $$ what would be a good trade in value?
If this is not the right forum to ask this, I apologize and would ask the moderator to post it in the right place.
Thanks to all.

Ronin, two things...if you like the gun you have now...keep it and use it. If you must 'upgrade' your gun, you don't have to buy a new gun, just read up on the model you're interested in and buy those part and swap them out.
