Wink All finished and working great!

Received the new hammer and installed it thinking it was a drop in but noooooo, it requires some work as it would not even cock. I had looked at the old hammer and thought that it could be ground to work properly but had hoped the new one would be just a drop in. Wrong........ So since I had to do the same modification to the new hammer I decided to work the old hammer instead. I removed some of the hammer material to allow the sear to set deeper when cocked. Put it all back together. When I released the slide after cocking the gun it remained cocked....whoopie. Took two magazines out to my shooting spot, loaded 2 shells in the first magazine and fired them both. All worked well. loaded the remaining clip with 9 rounds and fired all of them. Perfect! So this gun still has all it's original parts, and I have a new hammer and plunger to sell on Ebay. But the repair is complete, and I am very pleased with this Hi-Standard Supermatic Trophy.
I can't believe that the folks at Hi-Standard would have released this gun for sale with the hammer fitted the way it was. So I am back to my original thoughts that someone did a bad trigger job on it by modifing the hammer. It had been taken apart previously, by someone who didn't use gunsmith screwdrivers. The tale-tell boogering of the screw slots. A pet peave of mine.

Good for you. Might be a good idea to get some casehardening stuff from Brownell's for the hook(s) if you are finished with them. If you don't harden it/them, they will wear down.
