Cu`on Guys, Play Up ! I know some of you have 20 years worth of Gun Rags and more Gun Books then you need

Lets have some input for & by everyone.

Here`s another:

The .45 Automatic. An American Rifleman Reprint 1999. Think this is all of $8.00 when you join the NRA.

" Trials ( Army ) of the .45" reprint of May 1985, By Col. Jim Crossman is worth the price alone.

It's a little peripheral to the subject, but I enjoyed "B-Zone, a Novel of the Gun", by Al Voth. No, I don't think it was in the final running for the Nobel Prize, but it was pretty good for a first novel and Voth obviously knows his way around a 1911.

If only Carl Hiaasen would write a book about the IPSC circuit the way he covered pro bass fishing in "Double Whammy." I'd trade my chances of whipping Rob Leatham's ass to read that one.

For really detailed tech/smithing info, Jerry Kuhnhausen's two shop manuals. For high-zoot competition types (might be a tad dated by now), Simpson's "The Custom Government Model." For general info, some smithing, Hallock's book on the .45. For the take from a guy in the business, Wilson's "The Combat Auto."

Note on Wilson: Yes, he pushes his stuff, but he also mentions some other brands and he does say that he thinks that extended slide releases and ambi safeties, including his own, are useless or worse on a carry gun.
