As time goes by I'm finding that I'm liking my 229 and 220 less and less. I own: 4 1911s (various sizes), 6 Hi-powers, 2 XD series pistols, 3 Glocks, 2 CZ's and a few other smaller caliber pistols so I have plenty of experience with Sigs. Sigs are very well made and totally reliable guns, no question about it. That said, having shot so many other guns I now have concluded that Sigs are relatively bulky, somewhat top heavy and have a very heavy double action trigger pull that without a doubt effects first shot accuracy. In single action mode they are tack drivers.
I'm also slowly giving up on the 40 smith and wesson caliber. Why? I would rather make sure I have total assurance of a first round hit (with a 9mm) than the possibility of a miss due to higher recoil and stiffer trigger pull in a 40 S & W. The recoil sensation in 40 S&W guns is noticably sharper that a 9mm and even a 45 ACP, which is more of a thud.
What suites "me" best? Hi-power is by far the best, then all the rest are tied.
It's a personnel choice, thank God we have can make them.
