My USP Compact .45 is as solid and reliable as a handgun can be. Never had a problem with it. My DA trigger pull has a plastic-to-steel rub that is not as smooth as two lubricated polished steel surfaces. A trigger job on an HK is out of the question for an amateur. Parts are NOT available, there is very little literature available, and few gunsmiths will work on them. This is not a pistol that you will want to detail strip in a tent over a poncho liner! It is well made, but has millions of tiny, irreplaceable, spring loaded parts. (Maybe billions!) So my only gripes are the lack of documentation, and the lack of spare parts. Other than that, it is rock solid, has a good SA trigger, and is target pistol accurate with GI hardball ammo. |

I can't speak for the HK 45 but can for the FNP-45. I bought the Competition model and did a mod or two for the sights so that I could co witness with a Trijicon RMR. The FNP-45 in either the competition or tactical models comes pre milled for the RDS. Most users seem very happy with it and I have read very few complaints on service.

The HK's are all great pistols. I have never needed customer service. The only downside is the high price of the pistols, and the fact that you can't fix it yourself if it breaks. |
