Hand Damage

I have a MK40 Elite. Had some early issues but were resolved by Customer Service. My question is about it biting my hand. With the original plastic and the wood grips I get a bleeding wound on the area around my thumb knuckle. Is this a common problem? Is there a fix? Using .40 FMJ of various brands. Thanks for any help.

I read somewhere (?) that the lower rear corner of the slide release lever can be rounded slightly and polished to lessen the problem you describe. If I come across the article, I will post it on this thread.

Howdy hd1.,
Hope you can find that thread! Neat little pistol. Do you know of any other modifications that are considered by the Kahr community to enhance the firearm? Thanks for your help BTW

I was able to find one article at:

Scroll down to almost the bottom, to the heading "KAHR Custom Shop Close-up".

The Cylinder & Slide Kahr page address is:

https://shop.cylinder-slide.com/ccp5/cl ... &ref=CP114

The "bevel slide stop" job is under the heading "rounding". ($15)

I think that I would attempt to round the slide release lever myself, with a fine file and a buffing wheel. Worse that could happen is I'd have to buy a new lever from Kahr ($22) if I somehow screw up!

Thanks. I think I'll try the home customization route. Sure will be nice not to bleed on the stainless. Thank you for your time and research. What other modifications do you consider to be necessary for the little pistol?
Take care.
