Carrying a P9
Hello all, I'm new here, also a new P9 owner. I'm looking for suggestions for carrying my piece. I'm currently planning on a galco ankle glove, but since I live in FL, long pants aren't worn too often during most of the year.
I'd like to see pics, hear your thoughts, etc.

Two of the more popular are the fanny pack and the IWB or Inside the Waist Band holster.
The IWB is VERY popular and excellent holsters are made by just about every holster maker.
The P9 is just a little too big for pocket carry for most people and most pants. However, you might try a good pocket holster inside a pair of larger pocket pants or shorts.

I guess I am asking specifically about IWB holsters. I'm not a fanny-pack type of guy, although I do have a maxpedition jumbo versipack that I carry occasionally.
I was also thinking about trying a clipdraw. I wore the P9 in my waistband around the house today, and it felt pretty good. I would prefer to have a little more between me and the gun, however.
I do wear cargo shots a lot, so a pocket holster in one of the side pockets could also work.

I don't own a P9 .......I do carry concealed.....I appreciate fine leatherwork work as much as the next "HAND"......Holsters from the best leather artist are worth what You have to pay to get them.....Some of My favorites, John Dennehy made. With that said, I favor carryin' mexicano style, Some of the fastest Hands I ever seen carried mexicano......Richard "Two Gun Reel" Reel, a pipe line welder from North La., My Grandpa Bill Caldwell carried a Colt Model P with the loadin' gate open to keep the Colt up where He wanted it......I carry a 1911 or My Commander, The Dapper Detective carries a Glunk.
Don't knock mexicano carry (I know, nobody was) 'till You've tried it and worked with it awhile........It's Handy and with pratice can be as fast or faster than any other option. Bill Caldwell

With a trigger fired (no manual safety) pistol, it's a good idea to use a holster of some type to cover the trigger. In addition, when you holster the pistol, get used to clearing any obstructions so that nothing contacts the trigger. It hasn't happened often, but a few have creased their butts with negligent discharges.
I've carried "Mexican" (no holster) but I carry a 1911 or BHP (manual safety) and still prefer a holster. You're going to sweat in FL and the pistol will stick to you. You might consider a synthetic material. I've sweated through leather holsters.
Hope this helps.

Well, after the initial replies to this thread, I gave "mexican" a try. It actually works quite well. I too was worried about something catching the trigger, so I do not carry with a loaded chamber right now. I ordered a "Memphis" from Tom at Southern Holstersand should have it within the nest few weeks.
So far, no issues simply sticking the P9 in my waistband. I will be glad to have the holster so the gun feels a little more secure, and so I can carry with a round in the chamber, though.
