| Kahr PM 45 - new member
Hello everyone. I am a new member to this forum and so far have been surfing through the various Kahr posts. They are very enlightening and appear mostly positive about these pistols. I would now like to post my own experience with a PM45. After picking it up last week, I cleaned it before taking it out to the range. When looking through the barrel I could see something like a scar or maybe a toolmark in the rifling at the muzzle end, it was about 3/4 inches long and had a ragged edge which I could feel with a probe. I left a phone message to Kahr and they promptly called me back. I spoke to Frank Harris and after I described the problem he said that they will call me back and let me know what they will do. Not long after Ian called me to get my address and said that they were shipping a new barrel with a paid return mailer for the old one. In five days the new barrel was in my mailbox. The new barrel had an exceptional polished finish both inside the rifling and on the feeding ramp. I recently had an experience with Beretta where it took me two months to get my malfunctioning gun back, so I was impressed with Kahr's quick action and excellent support. I am thinking about getting another Kahr, a MK 40 but after reading the posts, the coments about recoil worry me. By the way, I have not taken my PM 45 to the range yet. I expect that this pistol will teach me something about recoil. So I may rethink this and get a MK 9. I have seen differing opinions in the posts about the recoil of these small pistols. So far all of my experience has been with 1911's and small 38 revolvers. However I did shoot a 44 magnum once and quickly got rid of it. Would appreciate any advice or comments. Gaber |

I love my PM-45. My first thought after firing it was how light the recoil was....couldn't believe it. My 110 llb wife loves it and eats the center out of targets all day at 15 yards. Fits in my pocket and I Conceal it all the time. I get a hot brass or two on top of my head every now and then but that's my only pick with this little nugget. Plus your putting a lot heavier lead down range. This gun gets 2 thumbs up from me. I fired the PM-40 and found the recoil to be greater than the 45 for some reason. I actually bought the 45 because they were out of PM-9s and now I'm thankful they were

Hope you read my posts about my pm45. Still have it. Still trying to set a new break-in round count. Recoil isn't bad. Accurate as heck but shell casings still hitting me in the forehead and top of head now and then. MK40's recoil not so bad. PM45s better.
