| Lower - detail strip and lube?
Hello: I am new here but have been around handguns since an Army 1911 back when that was our issue weapon. Since then, I have shot extensively, in competition and as an NRA instructor, especially 1911's, Glocks and Sigs. I know not to detail strip guns unnecessarily and that some polymer frames require very little lubrication. Even so, I wonder at the lube instructions on Kahr Talk that say nothing about the lower. I found both paper and internet detail strip instructions that do not seem daunting, but I am not looking for trouble. How do the experienced people here handle Kahr polymer lowers? Thanks

Unless there's a specific reason or need, It's not really necessary to strip a Kahr polymer frame. The Kahr frame mechanism design is extremely simple. About all that's in it is the trigger, draw bar, and rotary sear. You can lube all of that without disassembly. Here's a link to the lube points of the polymer Kahr. Kahr PM Lube chart - AR15.COM On my stainless K9 I also put a dab of grease on the rotary sear, and any good lube on the other parts. |
