I use grease on the slide and weapon shield or clp on all other metal moving parts. Nothing on the firing pin.

Pick a gun lubricant. Try it. If it works for you, you're done, move on to more important things. Seriously, no subject is more debated on the gun forums, and with less effect. Gun lubes are purely a matter of personal preference and experience. There are no "miracle lubricants" and no lubricant stands above any other. What one person thinks is the very best will not satisfy another. The advice about using a little grease on slide and frame rails and the barrel of auto pistols is good. A good grease will not run off or evaporate like most liquid lubes will. |

I use synthetc motor oil, does not seem to go burn away like some oils and stays put. 20 weight works great mobil one. For grease i use a molybidium white grease. Please excuse the spelling. Billymac |

I would echo what others say about quality lubes. They all work effectively. I use FP10 on both polymer and steel/alloy guns and have had no problems on any of them.
