(Unwarranted) Kimber Attack

Guns that operate flawlessly tend not to generate many post. I have an Eclipe Pro Target II and other than me trying to feed it some pretty lightly charged loads I have never had a problem with it. It operates flawlessly and right out of the box proved to be the most accurate pistol I have ever owned. Even friends who shoot very little are able to create surprisingly tight groups.

I'm even pleased with the fact that after a year and a half and a couple thousand rounds the gun looks brand new. The stainless sides are easy to repolish and the anodized surfaces take a lot of abuse.

If I had a complaint it would be the cost. At about $1000 a pop I can't afford too many. Other than that I am very pleased with the gun.

Eclipse Ultra II Fail to eject

I have 2 Kimbers, one will eat anything, this one stovepiped, failed to eject, sent it back to Kimber. Now it only fails to eject. Have 2 Wilsons and a Springfield, no problems at all.

I have a Pro Carry II with 1800 rds fired and it's been 100% out of the box. Only problems have been mags, bought Wilson 47D's problem cured. Very accurate and a joy to carry.

Kimber attack

I really like my Custom II. The only thing I wish Kimber did for better customer service is pay freight back and forth when you have to send a gun in for warranty repair. I have NEVER paid frieght with SW. Overall I'm real happy with my Custom II. It's my range gun and everyone that shoots it, likes it.

I have two Kimbers: A custom II and an alloy Compact (Series I)
Both have been 100% reliable, so I rarely even look at this forum.

Internet Furums attract people with problems, so of course the problems SEEM much more common than they really are. The problems are real, but statistically GREATLY OVER-REPRESENTED.

Kimbers

Many people just cause their own problems with Kimbers. They use the wrong Ammo. They don't change recoil springs after thousands of rounds. They don't keep them oiled. They allow some stupid range wanker of a smith to do their work. Then they wonder why they are having problems.

Just put the 2000th rnd thru my Pro Carry II last weekend. NO problems with that pistol since day 1!!! Had some magazine problems and switched to Wilson 47D's. That cured the mag problems!!

Kimber Pro CDP II Problem

Well I was the proud owner of a bad one! Bought mine this past November and it started with feed problems. Then I had to hit the slide to put into battery. Sent It back in December. Took a month to get it back. Fired 15 rounds, one from original 7 round mag, and second 8 rounds from KimPro Tactical Mag. Same problem had to hit slide to go into battery. Talked to Kimber and was told to send back again. Called Gander where I bought it and said I wanted new gun. Took another month got new gun. Shot it yesterday no problems except I can't pull the slide back far enough to get the stop down. What the heck??? Has anyone else had this problem and can I fix myself? Thanks
