Anyone here using either of these in their Kimber? Anything to share??

Since the late 50's ...early 60's 45super for some of us has been .243... .270...308...30/06 shortened , then reamed for 45 bullets.The .270 and possibly the other cases are stronger than the 45super brass ....these can be loaded to run 230gr.bullets close to 1400fps and possibly faster. Primers will give up first . Far as hot loads go, i'll take the 40 SUPER over anything else thats out there.

I picked up my new Kimber and we're waiting for some range time. I'll look at both Supers as well..

It is possible to change the locking time on a Kimber, so it stays locked a bit longer, allowing you to use .45 Super. Not sure how it's done. Contact Jack Huntington in Grass Valley, to find out. I've set my .45's up to shoot it, thanks to Jack, with heaver springs, a Sprinco heavy duty recoil reducer, and Ed Brown parts.

I mainly shoot .45 ACP ball out of it. I didn't realize you could make Super brass out of rifle cases. VERY COOL.
