| after mrket clips . . .
I went to my gun dealer to buy some extra magazines for my Kimber 45 ultra CDP II . . . They didn't stock them but had some Wilson Combat ones that the guy said was better anyways . . . When I got them home I had a hard time releasing my slide with them in (empty). The guy at the gun shop said it was because the Wilsons had an extra strong spring . . . Is that true? Has anyone else had issues with aftermarket clips?

Many say it is not good to release the slide usein' the slide stop with an empty mag in the pistol......no reason to anyway ....are the mags reliable when You shoot the pistol ? If so just drop the mag slightly, maybe 1/2 ln. let the slide run forward, then insert empty mag Bill Caldwell |

yes, dont drop a slide on an empty chamber. and to answer your question, yes i find it more difficult to depress the slide stop with an empty wilson mag than on other mags. this is a good thing. keep the mag loaded and it will get better after a week.

With Kimber as well as most other model 1911 clones, an empty magazine is supposed to lock the slide to the rear. What the Wilson's are doing is what they are supposed to do. Kudu40 |
