| ultra ten II
Hope someone can help me, 1st kimber and 1st 1911, my ultra ten II is a jamomatic, rounds fail to feed, only tip of bullet goes in barrel approx 30degree angle? and after last round fired slide doesnt stay back, tried all kinds of ammo, gun is clean, brand new kimber mag. round count unknown, could this be a recoil spring problem? Has new slide stop bought from kimber 30 rounds ago, Want to keep the gun but dont trust it, any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou also having problems with the last round of mag failing to feed before this which is why i bought a new mag.

I wish I had spent a couple hundred more and bought a Colt instead of a CustomII. I think maybe Kimber has gotten too big. Friend of mine bought a CustomII within a week or 2 of when I got mine. His didn't work either. I dimpled the slide stop on mine. He bought a Wilson slide stop. Both will have to have trigger jobs. Really disapointed in it. Especially after the "match trigger, 4 to 5 lb pull" in their ads. |

Sorry for the problems. I have never been a fan of the Ultra size from anyone. Commander or Pro being the smallest I will go for just this reason. I don't think a 1911 was made to be this small. Maybe try downloading the mag one round and see if it eases the tension of the top round. You may just have to live with one less if it goes.

I have 3 Ultra models and all will eat whatever I feed them and have had 0 failures.I handload everything. Use Factory Ammo for carry, although i don't think it makes any difference. I trust them all for CCW. Was the gun used or new when you got it? The recoil spring assembly needs to be replaced at certain round counts, about 2500. I do repair and accurizing on 1911's and they can all be set up to run . Even the 3inch ones. I have seen Kimber problems lately and they do fix them. If not , a good smith can. | |
