-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I told myself that all I wanted was a new Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry ll. Well ,I do need a holster....Let me try another type holster....maybe another color....I have heard that you have to have Wilson Combat mags....or maybe Kim Pro Tec mags.... Got to have Crimson Trace Grips---no, wood grips are better...Is it everyone or just me caught up in the Kimber(Got to Have) mode..... Come on all you Kimber lovers, Lets hear it.... __________________ 4th SQD. 7th CAVALRY #1 Kimber-A-Holic |

I do like them, if they are without the SII safeties. Have two. Congrats on yours. And thank you for your service. |

| I had two...
I bought two kimbers, thinking they were the best money could buy. One was a 38 Super that I waited 6 months for delivery. Turned out to be one of my best guns for accuracy and ease of shooting, but I had a laser grip on it, so it made it even better for hip shots. Then the other one (A 45 with laser) was not even in the class of my 38 super. It was missfire and jam, one after the other. I opened it to clean it, and I inspected it throughly. There was the problem.....A ridge had developed on the inside back of the lower. The slide must have been hitting the raised place causing the jamming. I returned the gun to the dealer. He was surprised and immediately called the Kimber hot line. They wanted it sent back immediately. They even emailed him a prepaid return slip. Several weeks the gun came back with a new lower without any explanation. I traded him the gun for a Dan Wesson and never looked back. I think I will shy away from Kimbers from now on. Dog bites you once, it is the dogs fault. Dog bites you twice, it is your fault! |

Have a TLE/RLII and love it. I haven't had the problems that other people have had with the extractor. When in the market for another 1911, I won't be scared of another one.

I think you get touches with the most custom touches ,even with base model. For same price as colt or other , accurate too.

My first 1911 was the Kimber SIS when it first got released. I have since picked up a Kimber Gold that I use for PPC. My daughter tried mine, and ordered one the following day. Can't say enough good about 'em. Smooth, accurate, and reliable. I've carried a Beretta 96, then a Sig P229 w/CT laser, both retired to the gunsafe. I carry a Kimber or Colt .45 now. ProtoType |

| Kimber's alright
I became a 1911 enthusiast in celebration of their anniversary. I liked what I read about Kimber and felt I could finally afford one ultimate carry gun. I chose the 4" SS Compact II as an all-purpose gun. The first 680 rounds were shot in a week long self-defense course. It now has 1,500 rounds through without any failures. It shot so well and ran so smoothly. So I sold my Glocks and bought a new Ultra II for the improved carry with the shorter barrel. I liked it so well I also got a SS Ultra II TLE. I needed to see how well I could shoot with a 5" barrel, so I justified the purchase of the Custom II TLE for home protection, and love it. All have at least 500 rounds through them without fail. I guess I'm a Kimber enthusiast. |
