Wilson 47Ds for me. I have found that CMC Powermags can be converted over to Wilson like mags (I got Wilson thin steel basebads and Wilson followers in all of my CMCs). The CMCs functioned fine in the gun, but I found the followers were popping out of the mags when I ejected the mags. The Wilson basepads will fit on a CMC Powermag. I've had mixed results with my one Cobra Mag so I'm still on the fence about that one. I am curious about the Novak/PSI Mags though.

I have been very pleased with the Wilson-Rogers mags.I have at least a dozen 47D's and at least a half dozen 470X and OXCB's. They have to date always proven to be very reliable! As with weapon choice, mags, and ammo used for carry please find the combination which works reliably every time !!! Kevin...

I love Wilson's mag bodies. I hate their followers and springs.

I have eight Wilson 47 mags, I put roughly 3000 rounds total through all eight. Average of 375 rounds per mag. Follower shelf rounded and would push my slidestop out of the frame on the last round fired and tied up the gun. And the springs took a set that seemed very weak.

So I decided to try Tripp's Super Seven upgrades. Absolutely beautiful. Follower doesn't round on the shelf, and the springs still haven't taken a set, and are nice and strong. Over 600 rounds per mag since upgrade and not a problem. Worth every penny. So now I buy Wilson mags, shoot them range only until the follower fails and buy the Tripp upgrades and then I don't have to worry about them.

Highly recommended. Wilson bodies and Tripp upgrades.

Best 1911 Mag: New Metalform

With all the push from LEO's for a mag that doesnt fail like the Wilson on the line, Metalform has a new 8rd magazine that IS the proper height and length for an 8 rd mag.. Unertl tested with thousands of rounds for MEUSOC's pricey but really works.

New Novak is a POS...eject a mag once in cold weather onto a hard surface and it's base fractures into multiple pieces and the folower and spring come flying out. Feeds anything but BAAAAAAD cheapo plastic base pad.

Off the rack..Chip's power mags are hard to beat for the $$$

I use Wilson 47's, 47D's, followed by a couple of CMC magazines
from Chip McCormick. Thus far, all have been great~!

I had the base plastic "lip" separate on my Wilson mag. It prevented the magazine to slide "home". I threw it away in disgust. Now I only buy mags with a steel bottom with or without the pad.

I know my Les Bear has the steel with the pad.
