I am going to buy a 1911 very soon but really don't know which builder to go with, Wilson ?, Les Baer ? or maybe even Springfield Custom. I am getting really confused..... Can anyone give me any pro's & cons on these firearms. Thanks !:-) |

Well, I can't comment much, except to say that my Les Baer Concept VII was pretty reliable, except for a wierd reverse case stovepipe about once every 100 rounds.(see earlier thread--it was just like the problem described there). I replaced the stock recoil spring with a 22lb. Wolff, and put 300 rounds through it with no malfunctions. It is a commander length gun and is more accurate than any of my 5" guns. I'll put about 400 more rounds through it on Saturday, adn we'll see what happens, but overall, I am very happy with it. I have a friend with a TRS, and he is VERY happy with it. He has put about a thousand rounds through it and has had no malfunctions. |

I have a TRS with many thousands of rounds through it and I'm thrilled with it' s performance. No malfunctions and the tightest, smoothest slide to rail fit you'll ever see. Accurate too, no problem plinking third graders at 100 yards. Steel that is!

I have a C VII as well. I bought it used and have had it back to Baer twice for upgrades. Nothing wrong with the gun, just some things I wanted changed. The folks at Baer were very nice and accommodating. I would buy from them again. Mike |
