| 1911 Sear Will Not Engage Cannot Remove Safety Cannot Reassemble
My 1911's hammer wont cock because the sear will not engage (I guess) and I therefore cannot remove the thumb or grip safety. Any tips on how to get that sear to engage while both safeties are in the way so I can reassemble my pistol? Obviously a first timer so any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Please. |

Take off the main spring housing and remove the sear spring. Use a small screwdriver to nudge the sear upward and forward, them the hammer should come back and problem should be solved.
