| 9mm 1911 govt model has stem bind
the barrel moves forward a bit as the slide moves. How to fix this? Is this a barrel link issue? thanks. update, I had to elongate the big hole in the link. Horrified to find out that Dremel no longer makes the mandrel mounted polishing point! That leaves a huge hole in the smithing armada, gotta find a replacement.

I have an officers model (#1) that does the exact same thing. I too elongated the hole in the link. It "helped". Still has a teeny tiny hiccup as it goes into battery. I swapped barrels with another officers model (#2) kept the same link, and problem goes away. Well actually, problem goes to model #2. I have checked EVERYTHING I can check, short of doing a 3D model scan and do an overlay of the 2 barrels to find the problem. Obviously, it's with the barrel but for the life of me, I can't find the issue. With oblonging the hole in the link, and it helped, I thought that it just needed shooting. Shot it in a IDPA match and it was a true dumpster fire. The hotter it got, the worse it got. When you say you oblonged it, how much?
