[Q] Para LDA Tac-Forty

Hi,
wanted to ask if anyone knows aftermarket parts/ caliber convertion kits
for CTX1540S

http://www.paraord.com/product/product.html?id=108

It seems to be very rare -- I do not see reviewes on it, nothing.

I called Para they said they might have manufactured between 200 to 300 of those (and that they do not recommend anything aftermarket and they do not make anything for it as far as caliber conversions)

Not really sure what you are asking,, the gun is a .40. There are no Caliber conversion kits for any 1911 designs,, The frames are usually similar but the entire top end would need replacing, and as such no reason you couldnt put a different slide and barrel on it. I dont see why though as that same gun is available from the factory in 45, and similar models in 9mm. Many parts are 1911 common parts alot of the trigger mechanism parts arnt. What "aftermarket parts are you talking about ?

hi,
well what you described is mostly what I was asking: essentially if one could put a different barrel and recoil spring and have the gun shoot 9mm.

You explained that -- 'no' this cannot be done.

Then I also wanted to know about the .22 conversion kits for 1911 would they fit?

And lastly I wanted to know if in general the million of 1911 aftermarket parts (barrels, bushings, sights, recoil springs, etc) c would fit this model

thank you

From the brief examination I have made of them pretty much any Slide related parts are 1911 , mag release is 1911, the trigger mechanism , safeties, searspring are all unique as well as the cuts to the frame so you couldnt really convert it back to single action. the 22 conversions should work however I am not aware of any doublestack .22 magazines so basically that's a no go. Personally I dont think much of the LDA trigger I think it's a gadget.
