The hump in the barrel feed ramp was in the early design, the later BHPs, beginning with the Mark III's, (I think), the ramp was a straight shot. Very carefully, perhaps with a round file, the hump in the ramp can be removed, then polished out. I have fired some JHP's at the range with an occasional FTF, with the round nearly seating, but a failure to completely return to battery.
If this were my full-sized carry weapon, I would want it 100% reliable with my JHP of choice, but I have these because I like them, more or less the way they came, but not wanting to fix what isn't broken.
