What is the derringer style pistol in my avatar? It is a small steel frame encased in brass, with a 3 digit serial number on the frame under the grips, and a matching number on the bottom of the barrel. It is not quite right for a Marlin, but maybe an E Allen? This little .22 Short was found inside a dresser drawer someone threw away in an alley. This little old homeless Korean War vet would scavenge stuff like this and trade or sell it to my late father. He also found a brand new Beretta Model 21 new in the box stuffed inside a desk drawer behind an office building. The employee died, and they just chucked the whole desk, and all it's contents, including the Beretta new in the box, with ammo, cleaning kit, and holster. Dad was a federal employee, & worked with ATF, so everything was checked out. The cartridge is a 9mm x19 Luger for scale. http://tinypic.com/r/312ziub/9
