Exclamation Help!

I am an idiot!

Was strip-cleaning my Colt Gold Cup series-70 and instead of going into my shop where there is closer quarters I was assembling it at my work bench in the 3-car GARAGE...dumb, dumb, dumb... I knew I should have NOT done it there

Yep! You guessed it. The DEPRESSOR SPRING launched to parts unknown. I spent about two hours doing a CRIME SEARCH with a chip brush but was not "lucky"... too small to locate.

Upshot is BROWNELLS and MIDWAYUSA have no more in stock. If anyone will sell me one I will give them my first-born for it, or gladly pay through the nose. IF NOT CAN YOU POINT ME TO A SOURCE?

Thanks KINDLY in advance

NUMERICH has them. Original search there didn't find them.

Sorry to bother, have a nice day!

I know this ain't FACEBOOK, but I should say, I found the little beggar after two more days and another 1-1/2 hours or so poking around the stuff in the garage ["stuff" is an Obama technical term]. Maybe I can get a HAWKEYE award to go along my IDIOT trophy..ya think? THAT particular spring is a really hard thing to see even when you are looking at it!

Yes, it's all back together and functions perfectly if you wonder.

I'm a retired watchmaker/gunsmith so I KNOW about lost tiny parts.

One trick is to use a large magnet to "sweep" the floor.
Also don't forget to look at the wood trim around the baseboard area, especially if there are any gaps between the trim and wall.

My "best" lost part was an irreplaceable TINY part in an antique watch.
After crawling around on the floor for over an hour I found it....... stuck to the BACK SIDE of my necktie!!!!!
