Does your .22 target pistol Jam? Mine jams much more often then my other pistols unless I buy a certain type of ammo.It doesn`t really bother me that much because I don`t stake my life on the .22.

Tell you my experience with my Model 41 Smith & Wesson. I had quite a few jams with mine. I wipe my down everytime but don't necessarily do the complete clean routine. As it turns out mine is not only ammo sensitive but sensitive to fouling as well. Once I found the ammo it liked, started cleaning after every session (200-300 rounds on average) , the gun started performing like a trooper.

My Browning Buck Mark is very forgiving and rarely jams.
My Hi Standard almost acts like a spoiled child. It is very ammo sensitive and even then it has good days and bad days. It will function with no problems for 4 or 5 hundred rounds and then the next few trips to the range it may take 30 minutes to fire 20 rounds.

I've got one of the alloy slab-sided 6" Smith .22 autos...not sure offhand which model. As long as I keep it clean and lubricated, it does pretty well. Occasional failure to feed or fire.

I think that the companies who make 22 ammo try to make that stuff as dirty as they can. Most of my semi 22's need to be cleaned often. I use a can of brake cleaner as it gets all the wax and carbon out also.

I thought about getting a suppressed 22 till I saw how dirty they get...

I've found that one of the keys to getting a .22 pistol to shoot reliably is keeping the chamber clean. I use a bent 30 caliber bore brush to scrub the chamber every 50-300 rounds.

Anybody have any tips for getting my Ceiner conversion to feed better?....It seems to be a single shot most of the time...so I usually practice getting quick first shots with it...It would be nice if I could get it to cycle reliably.

My sister and I bought my mom one of those S&W 22S pistols for Mothers Day.

The only ammo that it really really likes is Winchester T-22, it really hated the CCI stuff. With the CCI the slide would not catch the rim of the next cartridge, but would bash the case or scrape a nice slice of lead off of the bullet.

The T-22 fires perfectly, we have only had one or two caught case ejections with it now after 300 rounds.

I can keep a sub 1.5" group with it at 75 feet semi-rapid fire with an Optima 2000 red dot site.

Are non-firing .22 rounds common? We have had about 8 of those so far.

I have a Marvel .22 conversion that runs and runs well. See Marvel.com. You will not be disappointed.

Bronco, have you read the conversion posts under Glock Forum?

I have a Ceiner on a 17 and it and sometimes has light firing pin hits but that is getting much better, no feeding problems.

Is your unit on the 1911? You can check out Florida Bullseye for much information on 1911 conversions but most use the Marvel unit. I have not shot mine too much as other things in the fire till fall but test target sent was the average one of all fired in a Ransom Rest at 50 yards @ .650". I will try to get a dedicated frame set up for this unit before too long. (I used to live in Bismarck in the sixties.)
